The island is like this except not in the air but in the water. It has a large castle towards the back of the island where they make blood sacrifices to rid people of demons (illnesses). The tribe isn't that well versed in medicine or various other things.

History:

Not very knowledgeable this island has been home to the Shoji tribe as far back as they can remember. The island is where they always have and still do make their living hunting, building & breeding. When one of their own ever fell ill they would believe it was an act of revenge from the gods to them for something bad they had done such as killing a sacred animal. In an offering of apology the tribe would cut themselves and bleed into a bowl they keep in the castle which they see as home to the gods who will one day break free. When they bleed into the bowl they then leave the bowl of blood by the doors of the castle for the night. When they come back in the morning the blood is always gone.

The tribe believe it is the god's accepting their apology but travelers who've come upon this strange island claim to have seen a rare creature drinking blood at nights which they have named the chupacarbra. No one has seen it for long enough to confirm it. Travelers have attempted to venture into the castle to discover who or what it contains but at every attempt all they have ever encountered has been hostility from the natives.

What really lies in the castle is bats who managed to escape Spire Star. A group of mutated vampire bats which are 8 foot in size, walk like gorillas as they have small hands on their wings 3 large fangs instead of two. 1 in the middle of the bottom jaw pointing upwards and one eye in the middle of their face which they can see from. They give off loud horrific sounding screeches which echo throughout the island at night but the tribe believe this is the sound of the gods tossing and turning in their slumber.

The tribe have seen these creatures but believe they are some scared creature of the island. They are yet to kill one and anyone who claims these creatures are from the castle is banished from the island for such slander.

Government:

The island of Wakamono works with the belief system that the gods live in the castle and when they leave the apocalypse will begin and the world will be judged. Attempts to go against their rules will result in willingness to be sacrificed by the tribe.

Chupacarbra
In the castle there is said to be where the gods reside by the tribe but in actual fact it is where the Chupacarbra reside. Creatures known to drink the blood the tribe offer. They are 8 foot tall bats with 1 eye 3 fangs one facing upwards and hands on their wings.
