Tai could see the girls eyes sparkle, when he mentioned the word adventures which wasn't surprising. Since most children himself included wanted to go on adventures, he wanted to do more in life then get revenge for his family and friends. But with his new friend Mui and her fox pal they had the begins of so wing new, he now had less reason to be selfish and could be a big brother or something similar again.

"A monster feast sounds fun" replied Tai as he drunk his tea, and the two of them raced about getting the necessary items for their dish. Mui stated she liked cooking which made Tai feel better since he couldn't cook anything that wasn't basic, otherwise he just ate what he could when he could. "Glad to hear it, cause I'm not much of a cook" added Tai as he rubbed the back of his head slightly before returning to his tea.

If it wasn't for Miu's mask it would be easy to tell that Miu was frowning. "Miu will just have to teach Taiki nii san then" She said softly as she fixed the stew as it slowly started to take form with every ingredient added. Now and then she would taste it before adding something when she found she didn't like the taste.

It was clear that she was working hard to get it just right and that was soon shone to be the reason of having such a large pot as the stew only meant for three quickly doubled and then tripled its size before she found the taste to her liking.

She only stopped once everything was added only to start on other dishes and soon there before them was a full course meal Chicken,beef and pork dishes along with vegetable dishes made in every way possible was laid out before them.

A fool might think Miu was trying to fatten the boy up before she devoured him but in reality she only trying to get him to like her cooking and already a plan was being made in her head for any leftovers there might be.

"Never let it be said Miu lets her friends go hungry" She says as offers him a plate and bowl before starting to fix herself and her fox a dish an unused large bowl and plate lay nearby.

"It's not that I can't cook, I can do basic things but nothing too fancy" replied Tai to Mui comment about teaching him "But I welcome the training" added Tai with a smirk as he released the girl had called him nii-San. Which he was pretty sure meant brother, and that was something he hadn't been called for many years. He watched as Mui's stew dish kept expanding in size, he was a growing boy and could eat a lot but he couldn't eat that much.

And he doubted the girl or the fox could do any better, but the girl seemed the type to share things and would probably leave it to the other Forrest creatures. But he shrugged and just waited for the food to be given to him, which he was glad for because he hadn't eaten a proper meal in sometime. Last thing he ate was just a but of fruit which only goes so far, once he got his food he thanked Mui for it and the fox for bringing him before tucking into it.

Miu ate slowly keeping her eyes on Taiki as he ate trying to tell by his face. She looked over at Momo who was happily eatting her stew the large fox's eyes sparkling with each bite. She looks back to her guest "Do you like it? Is there anything you think it needs?"

Taiki could see the girl watching him as he ate, he wasn't sure if it was curiosity or if it was something more self conscious in nature. Then she spoke and he was certain, she was worried about how it tasted. He stopped eating and smiled "It's quite nice, reminds me of mothers cooking. Back when we able to eat, that is" replied Taiki with a slight bit of sadness in last bit. He wasn't lying as the food was quite good and his mother used to be a great cook as well, before times fell even harder on them and he and his brother had to beg.

He went back to eating the food, he wasn't messing with eating but he was taking it in quite readily. Due to his lack of wealth and now lack of friends or family, he'd been low on food intake he couldn't steal or beg for. Taiki finished his meal and dipped his bowl into the soup for another bowl stopping before pulling it out "Sorry, you don't mind if I have some more" asked Taiki.

Miu nods happily, her eyes sparkling happily "O-Oh yes please eat your fill, don't worry about it there is plenty." She says as her attention turns not to the pot of hot stew or the other dishes but of flames that flickered in the fire pit, she could feel the heat of the flames from were she sat enjoying the feeling of the heat washing over her as her eyes glazed over slowly the flames reflecting in her golden eyes.

Suddenly Miu realizing she had forgotten something quickly started to gather small pieces of each dish until she had a bit of everything. Picking it up she stumbles towards a half hidden path.

Tai finished his second helping and then put his bowl down for a spot, he then picked up a nearby piece of wood. He then pulled out a carving blade from his back pocket, this wasn't a dagger and likely couldn't hurt or kill anyone. So he didn't need to drop it with his other weapons, he then proceeded to carve the piece of wood down into a shape. It took a little time but when he was finished, the shape that came out looked like Mui and her fox friend standing next to her.

He stood up and walked over to where Mui was sitting, as she'd gone off to feed the other forest animals Tai had gathered. So he put the little wooden carving of Mui and he fox down where they'd see it upon returning, he then grabbed his bowl and helped himself to more food and sat back down to eat it. When they returned he'd smile "A token of gratitude" expressed Taiki.

Miu came back the bowl and plate she had before were no longer in her possession. As she grew closer the smell of scented smoke like that from burning incense. Perhaps the food was for an offering of some sort.

She picks up the small carving turning it slowly in her hand as she stared at it, her first gift in a long time... "Miu has something for Taiki nii san too!" She says before quickly climbing up the tree swinging and jumping from branch to branch until she disappeared into the leaves.

The sound of clattering pots and pans can be heard for a few moments before Miu drops down something in her hands. She holds it out for him to take.A similar mask that rests in her hands. But unlike Miu's fox mask this one looked more like a mouse, and where her's had red markings this one had blueish teal ones.

Tai didn't expect anything back but was glad she liked it, he had learned carving as he learned about his other weapons and being a cabin boy. Then she raced off again into the trees and dropped down like a monkey, holding a mask of similar style to hers but of a different animal.

The mouse which was kind of what he represented, it had blue and teal where Mui's had read. Tai smiled and took the mask "Thank you, now we're two of a kind" expressed Tai as he slipped the mask on his face "How do I look" asked Tai.

Miu giggles softly,the mask really did suit him, she felt happy that for once she didn't feel alone, she hoped that he could see why she hid her face mask if he had one of his own,after all how can you become attached to someone if you never see their face, it was impossible...right?

She pushed the thoughts out her mind quickly "Now the forest has two spirits" She says jokingly with a laugh,but the laugh quickly died when Momo's ears perk up and she lets out a yelp causing Miu to fall silent and look in the direction Momo had turned. After a moment the sound of voices echoed through the trees.

"I swear I saw it run this way" It was clear that the voices were close causing Miu to gasp and reach for Taiki's hand "We must hide" She says fear could be plainly seen in her eyes.

Lucky Taiki had already put the mask on, cause he blushed a little when Mui giggled at him. He could figure it wasn't an insulting giggle and more of a happy one, now she truly had someone to share her fun with. Saying the forest now had two spirits Tai couldn't help but smile more "I'll try to live up to that" Taiki responded to her comment.

But before they could speak more, the fox perked up and made known another's presence. He may not of spoken fox but it was fairly simply to guess, judging from the fox's previous apprehensions. Mui had grabbed his hand and told him they must hide, but Taiki's weapons were still out and held meaning to him. If only for at least one of them was also highly valuable, so hoping not to offend the girl Taiki let go "One second" commented Taiki.

He then dove and rolled over to where his weapons were and quickly picked them all up and sheathed them all, excluding his Atlati which he loaded and returned to Mui's hand. "I'm sorry but some of these have sentimental value to me" expressed Taiki. Following Mui into hiding, Taiki would look out in whatever view they had, and ready his Atlati just encase it was needed.

No sooner had they slipped out of sight had two men slipped into view from between the trees and stood looking around the clearing "I told you I saw something go this way."

Said one of the men before he goes and takes a seat in front of the pot dropping a large sack that spills open and fox furs the same colors and markings like Momo's can be seem. Miu's eyes narrow as they flash in anger.

"Boss I don't know if we should stay here...they say a fox spirit lives in this forest somewhere...and having all these fox pelts might not be such a good idea."

Taiki was ready to put a dart in both of these guys, he didn't need to hear what they said to tell they were hunters. And his assumption was correct when a bag they had dropped and spilled out fox furs, he could feel the anger emanating off his new friend without even looking at her eyes. "Time to live up to the name" coined Taiki, who then let loose a couple of darts aimed for the hunters's necks.

If they hit, then within barely a minute they'd be on the ground and out cold. If he succeeded then Taiki would walk out of the hiding spot, and tell Mui it was safe and that they should drag them some place else. He'd also reiterate that they should leave, because now the hunters knew where she lived. The world was a big and beautiful place and he hoped Mui and Momo got to see it, and he'd do his best to help and protect her while they traveled if she wanted.

Miu watched the men drop,out cold and with still some anger in her eyes as she stuffs the fox furs back into the sack,picking it with a sadden sigh. Such rare creatures Panda foxes were, so much so that hunting them had been banned as they had been slowly disappearing the last few years. To see so many furs in the sack not only sadden her, it sickened her.

What if Momo had been caught by the hunters,instead of being seen by her new friend? The thought made her shiver slightly at the thought of losing her.Looking back at Taiki she just simply nodded thinking of what they could do..."Well we could drag them back towards the path to the village...they wont come back this way again this close to dark."

She says before taking a moment to think.

"I have a place we could stay, its a bit over grown but its in the opposite direction from here.." She says lightly before letting out a frustrated sigh at having to go back to that place once again.
