Thea is a rather average young women. She stands at the average height of 5'4" and weighs about 140 pounds or 10 stones. Thea's blonde hair is long enough that it trails on the floor behind her if left down. Her skin is a peachy color, that is a tad bit on pale side. Her hands are scared from numerous paper cuts. Another scar runs across her left check, from a childhood accident. What seems to be the only oddity is Thea's eyes, which are two different colors. It is hardly noticeable, but one eye, the left, is a slightly darker shade of blue than the right.

Thea's outfits are unique in that it was her who made them in the first place. She has shown an affinity for dresses with frills, her favorite being a simple white dress with blue ribbons and frills. Thea has a strong dislike for shoes, which leads her to wear a pair of battered grey slippers.

Thea's eyesight was never the greatest, so she is constantly wearing a pair of wire rimmed glasses with a prescription that is a few years old. Due to this Thea is often times squinting to try and see things she couldn't make out normally.

Personality:

Unfortunately, Thea is a very forgetful person. She has forgotten her own birthday on more than one occasion. She is very likely to forget important things, so over time Thea developed a unique way to remind herself about things. This is done by tying colored strings around fingers. Each color means something else. Red strings represent important things like if she's supposed to do something. Blue reminds her of minor things like to feed the dogs and cats. Purple strings represent the book Thea wants to write. When she has an idea but can't write it down, a purple string will be tied around one of her fingers.

For all her forgetfulness, Thea seems to remember events in the books she reads better than events in her real life. Thea loves reading, she always has a book with her even if she isn't reading it. In fact, more often than not Thea will have multiple books besides the one; however, Thea has a tendency to carry so many books, that she has trouble carrying them. This, in turn, leads to her dropping them often.

It's not just reading that Thea loves, she also loves to write. Thea loves taking words and stringing them together to create a story of her own design. Don't get it wrong, Thea loves the writings of others, but she wants to write something of her own. She wants to be remembered as a great author.

Something else that Thea absolutely loves, is talking. She loves the hear her own voice. Talking has proven to be the way she passes time, talking to herself when she is alone. It has also proven to be one of few methods Thea uses to calm herself down when upset. The other being writing in her journal.

Thea is a very emotional individual. She was never able to learn how to conceal her emotions, and as such wears her heart on her sleeve. She gets upset often, which is always a major tear fest. Thea's tears aren't always the result of conflicts with other people, most of the time they are the results from her nightmares. Thea is plagued by nightmares almost nightly, and often times leave her in tears. Thea also grows upset when someone mentions her forgetfulness, she doesn't like being reminded of this constant set back of hers.

When shes not in tears, Thea is a happy, talkative person who has a love for reading and writing. There is also the small fact, that Thea can be really awkward around other people. This may or may not be because of her lack of human contact for several years. Thea doesn't really understand that there are personal boundaries, for example if someone else is really sensitive about a topic, even though they might not want to talk about it, Thea will likely bring it up. It's not just with sensitive topics either, Thea will hug a person if she deems they need a hug, even if they don't want one. She is that person that might walk in on someone in the bathroom, and not fully understand why that's a bad thing, and because she's so forgetful, even if someone tells her why its a bad thing, Thea will probably forget.

Background

Thea was born to a rich man and his wife living in the South Blue, but she doesn't remember them at all. In fact, she doesn't remember anything of the two years she spent in her birth parents care. It was a fun filled two years, spent at the side of her parents and older brother. Being born into a rich family did have its downside. Her family was constantly the target of bandits and pirates, all after her fathers money. One pirate group developed the ultimate scheme. In the dead of night, they raided the mansion, and kidnapped two year old Thea. They took the two year old out to sea with them, leaving a ransom note for Thea's parents. Her parents were quick to pull the money together, just wanting their daughter back, but that would never happen.

Five nights after the raid, a major storm blew through the area, and the pirate ship sank just off the shore of a deserted island, with Thea on board. Luckily for the two year old, the only woman on the crew saved the two year old from the wreckage. She swam them ashore, and they were the only two to survive. Somehow, Thea had hit her head during the ordeal, and in turn didn't remember a thing. She didn't even remember the time aboard the pirate ship. This the woman pirate took advantage of. She had always wanted a daughter, but being a pirate wasn't the ideal occupation for a mother. So, Thea was told that this woman was her mother, and Thea believed it.

When morning came, they explored the island, and discovered an abandoned town. Nothing bad had happened to this town, but the towns economy had failed, and in order to find better lives, the people had left. Most of the buildings were overgrown, but the island's library wasn't. That's where Thea and Matilda, the woman pirate, made their home. For three years, living in the library was great. Thea was taught how to read and write by Matilda, who didn't want an uneducated daughter. They were happy, well, Thea was. Matilda on the other hand, longed for the sea. She missed being a pirate, and found being a mother wasn't all it was cracked up to be. So when four years after the crash, a small abandoned fishermen's boat washed ashore intact, Matilda left, and never came back. 6 year old Thea was left alone on that island, with no one else for company.

Thea believed Matilda would come back, so she went about her daily activities. Searching the beach for treasures washing up, practicing her letters and numbers, gathering food for a meal, and hunkering down in the library to spend the day reading. One day passed, then the next, and then another, but Matilda never returned. Thea didn't lose faith though, she was six years old after all, she had faith in her so called mother. So she continued to wait. Sleep didn't come easy after Matilda left. Thea was plagued by nightmares almost nightly. It was always the same nightmare; Thea was in a room on an actual bed, sleeping. Suddenly the dream would take a noisy turn. and she would hear crashing glass, screams, the crackles of fire, and rough hands would drag her away. What Thea doesn't know, is that this nightmare is actually a memory, from when she'd been kidnapped at two years old.

As days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months, and months turned to years, Thea slowly lost faith in Matilda's return. She didn't mind very much though, it was fun having free reign over the island and the library. She soon encountered a dilemma, as she began to grow. After many tries, Thea learned how to sew enough to make herself new clothes out of sails and other fabrics that had washed ashore. There were also the curtains and other such items still left in some of the abandoned houses that she snagged. As it turned out, Thea loved sewing. It was fun, and she often times found herself adding little things to her clothes, tweaking them to fit her creative vision. Thea still wasn't a very good cook, but she knew enough to make salads out of plants she found on the island. But salad wasn't going to sustain her forever, Thea had to get some meat on her bones.

Learning to hunt successfully took a lot more time, and a whole bunch of reading on the subject. Whenever Thea found she had to learn something new, she would consult the books. At age 10, four years after being left alone on the island, she began reorganizing the library. All the useful books that proved to be helpful were set in piles based on subject near her sleeping area. Another pile of books was set right next to her bed, which was just an old leather couch with a blanket. This pile was of books she wanted to read. This pile was constantly being changed. One thing Thea did, was find a set of old journals that hadn't been written in. It was decided that keeping track of the days would be a good idea, so in one of the journals she began a diary. The others were set aside for if she ran out of room in the one. Sleep was still hard to come by, the nightmares having never completely stopped.

Years continued to pass, Thea continued on as she had been, writing in her journal, sewing, hunting, searching the beach. By her 15th birthday, Thea had finally developed her method of remembering things. At age 17, her favorite genre of books had been decided. They happened to be the historical ones, sharing stories about the worlds history. It wasn't enough though, Thea wanted to know more, she wanted to learn more about the world she lives in, but more importantly, she wanted to explore the world, not spend the rest of her life on that island. Thea began studying books on ship building, but they weren't all that helpful, so she gave up on building her own raft. She also wanted to rid herself of the nightmares that still plagued her. Oh how she wanted those to just stop.

At age 19, Thea decided she wanted to write a book, but not just any book. She wanted to write a book based of her life on the island, but she'd have to find a publisher. To do that, she'd have to leave the island. Thea began standing on the beach, in her hand sewn white dresses, with her long hair that had never been cut, only brushed. She would stand there for hours at a time, trying to get the attention of passing ships. That didn't work well in her favor. Almost everyone knew the island was deserted, and didn't have very good value agriculturally. So suddenly seeing a girl standing in the waves, led them all to believe the island was haunted, and shipping routes were changed to avoid the so called ghost girl.

Two years passed slowly, Thea's daily routine never changed. Wake up (only if she slept), patch up any dresses that needed it, brush her hair, eat something, wander the beaches, read, hunt, eat something, read some more, update her journal, go to sleep. As of now, Thea is still on that island, waiting for something to change.

Remembering & Forgetting - Thea is very good at forgetting things, well things that are important in her life, but when it comes to events happening in the books she reads, Thea has no problems remembering.

Writer - Thea isn't an amazing writer, but she does have some skills when it comes to writing, mainly in constructing prose.

Tailoring - due to Thea's upbringing, there was no one to fix her clothes when the ripped, or to make her new ones when she out grew the old, so Thea had pick of sewing in order to care or herself
