Appearance:
Alais has a fairly tanned skin colour, which betrays the climate of her country of origin. She generally keeps her hair in a bun at the back of her head, her ears are pierced with earrings and has a generally flawless face. By flawless, it is deprived of spots or boils, though this also means laughter marks or wrinkles.
 
She has a fairly thin physique in some places, but others are filled out fairly nicely, probably an effort on her part. It also seems that she wears a bodice most of the time that helps her maintain her narrow waist look. She keeps her jewellery to a minimum, mostly to make her crew less likely to ask for more pay. She keeps her back straight in a dignified manner, even if she must run or walk fast.

Personality:
Alais is spurred for wealth and power. She doesn’t bother to train her physical skills, though she does make sure she keeps her frame. She prefers to make use of mercenaries to do her fighting for her, where she would be a safe distance away depending on the abilities of the one they’re fighting. Should there be marines present when there is an attack, she would send her mercenaries or bodyguards to assist in order to gain prestige. Of course, the first thing she would do in getting to a new island would be to get in contact with the Island’s owner in order to secure any potential trade routes.
 
She absolutely despises embezzlement, more so than piracy. The only thing that could make her angrier than the above two would be harming her micro-pig, Tibbles. she generally keeps a cool head, and can seem cold, even distant at times, though she does know the power of a well-placed smile. She may also lose herself for a brief moment, such as cheering when there is an especially good cause for celebration. Threatening her with her life won’t really get you anywhere, especially if you’re aiming to gain control of any of her assets, whether that be her wealth or otherwise, threatening her pig however is a fairly good motivator for her.
 
She can get claustrophobic in crowds due to the riot in her background. Her favourite food seems to be Consommé.
 
She doesn’t’ seem to have any distinct laugh.

Character History


Background (I’ll probably be making this more detailed at a later point, but this is the overall story)

Alais was born to the Sardone family, a rather wealthy family at the time of her birth, which had dominated the northern reaches of Alabasta in trade. They started out when two rival trading companies settled their differences with a marriage, their combined wealth (through silk and velvet) brought such wealth to the country that the King at the time had given them a village on the higher outskirts. They swiftly turned it into a harbour, and within a generation it became a hub of activity and commerce. Of course however, they ran into their fair share of competition as well as pirates.
 
Born to a wealthy noble family, she was taught in literature and accounting by a home tutor. In her family, whether they were male or female they were to go into the family business, and would rather take both genders than give them off to some other family.  She was brought on business trips throughout Paradise and Alabasta. However, one day turned sour, at the age of forteen she was on a monthly visit to one of her fathers’ family owned shops, only to find on the second day she was there that the entire town had gone on a riot due to layoffs. She’d found herself herded into a an alleyway in an attempt by her guards to avoid the crowd, they edged toward the end, their superior weapons only barely keeping the much, much larger group at bay.

However, as they reached the middle another group of outraged workers filled the other side. They identified her as a relative of their former boss from the crests of her bodyguards, who only made an appearance when such a person arrived.  They surged the alleyway toward the group, causing the guards to have to split up in order to protect their rear and charge.  However, before the rioters managed to overwhelm them, the captain of the guard that arrived with them jumped from the roof and changed into a lion due to his lion zoan. Alais fainted not soon afterwards, awakening on the ship that brought them there.
 
Over the course of five years, her family started to diminish due to increasing competition, to the point where her father only clung to his position as viscount. They soon realised that their wares were being undercut, but also their trade routes were being raided, in a last ditch effort he himself boarded one of the last ships they had with a detachment, her mother followed him. They were lost at sea.
 
Alais, now twenty had found that the Grand line had become too dangerous to trade in, and opted to bail instead. Using most of the remaining wealth, she brought passage into the Blues with her last remaining ship, hired back the ship’s crew as well as bringing some bodyguards. On her way to her ship after stripping her house bare, she found a small pig that was unwanted by a farmer, it was so cute and adorable that she brought and adopted it straight away.  She wasn’t about to let the Sardone name crumble to dust and be lost in the reaches of time, she would create a new future, and perhaps one that would resound throughout the world.
