Appearance:

Sid's short spiky silver hair is one of his most standoff-ish traits. Coming in a close second would be his light purple eyes which seem to captivate those who stare directly into them. His very childish face has him constantly being underestimated by his enemies and allies alike, he was often mistaken as a young girl as a child. Sid pale skin much like his mother who suffered from anemia her whole life. He's caught wearing his trademark purple jacket often which was given to him by his father before his untimely death. His eyes are two different shades when he's under extreme emotional pressure, altering his left eye 'red', this caused by his heterochronmia iridum(different color), his being a rare brand that occurs when his blood pressure or adreline levels exceed higher than nomral. Under the same eye, he bears the tattoo of a small key which sits around three centimeters under his eye. He frequently wears a baggy hat with a weird pattern bug which his mother was said to commonly wear. The small key tattoo was a passed down through generations of the Rivers Family, his Father's line are seeing bearing the same key.


Personality:

Day Dreamer: Sid's always been lost in his thoughts since he was a young child, to say the least. Due to the easy going life on Orange Island, he finds the world within his mind much more intriguing than everyday events.


Hard Worker: Sid's always had to work harder to pick up certain basic recreational skills, such as cooking, cleaning and when learning how to dance, he struggled the most.


Brat Mode: When Sid's completely lost and out, his brat mode kicks in. He usually has the aura of a very mature adult despite his age and size. When in Brat Mode, Sid becomes very vulnerable and child like, which can range from annoying to undeniably cute, dependent on the person/s.

Intelligent: Due to his quick witted nature, Sid was frequently caught skipping the local school house classes to look out onto the ocean and day dream. He's mastered most of the difficult literature available in the village and is much advanced than the average 14 year old.


Character History

Background

Sid's father, Lucas Rivers and mother, Lilly Skyette have lived in Orange Town for almost their whole life. Lucas, was raised into a family of blacksmiths and it was his dream was to eventually take off onto the seas to craft swords and armory for the Marines, Pirates and Revolutionaries alike once the price was right. Lilly was a former jewel theft from the West Blue, who arrived in Orange Town, fleeing the attention of her former pirate aggressors and falling in love with Lucas at first sight. Her band of merry thieves had never seen their Captain happy like this before and they decided to disband the crew, leaving Lilly behind to start her new life. Lilly and Lucas began living together, with the trails of smelting to make ends meet, trading with local merchants and sharing warm meals together in their small but comfy home in the hills of Orange Town. It was almost a year after they're new living situation that Sid was conceived and nine months later in November, under the setting sun, Sid was born into this world. Lucas choose the name Sid due to the main character from a story he'd heard his Father told him when he was younger, about the adventures of this boy wonder, named Sid. Lucas hoped that much like Sid in the story, his son would display the same courage and pride. Lilly was against the name at first, stating that she's never heard of the story before and that Sam was a much stronger name, the doctor thought both of their naming skills weren't up to par. Nonetheless, Sid was born to a happy weird household, of the Smith and the Thrift.

When Sid was around three years of age, a band of pirates visited Orange Town. He went by the name of Rook Morgan, a small time pirate who had been gaining favor in the East Blue. Rook just happened to be visiting the local pub and restocking on supplies when he had an encounter with the young Sid, who had been skipping classes and sitting at the bar coloring. When he queried to the barkeep about 'Why was a kid in the bar?', Sid cut the man short and said 'Cuz' I can be. Is there a problem Taco Head'!?'. The whole pub got quiet as Sid was referring Morgan's weird curved topped hairdo and Rook gave out the loudest laugh that any of his men had ever heard him release in awhile. He took a liking to Sid and revealed his real reason for coming to Orange Town because he heard about a meek weapon smith and he was looking for a new blade. Sid was afraid that the man had come to steal from his father and began to cry. When Lilly came to scold Sid for skipping school for being at the pub, she walked in on Morgan making her son cried and Lilly went wild, beating the crap out of Morgan and babying Sid. After the altercation was cleared up, Morgan explained the situation and Lilly happily escorted him to their home. It was their that Morgan was introduced to the Piper's Blade, which was crafted out of iron and a mixture of local stones from around Orange Town.

Shortly after purchasing the Piper's Blade, Morgan decided to throw a huge party to celebrate his new weapon. When Sid questioned, 'Why would you throw a party for a stupid sword!?', Morgan replied, 'I'm a free man. Why not!?' with the biggest grin on his face ever. It was at the party where Morgan revealed his ability to dance, wooing the local ladies, even the married ones by his elegant movements. Sid watched with captivating eyes, wanting to be able to move like that as well. It was at this time where, Morgan's Second Mate, who had just woke up from sleeping on the ship told Sid that the Captain learned how to dance as his days as a slave before he was liberated broke free. He traveled the seas looking for a fighting style that suits the very skill he mastered in his oppression and had finally found it. It was a style referred to as the Transmigrating Blade, which taught the principle of embodying different emotions to fuel one's sword style. 'Everyone has a passion. The Transmigrating Blade he picked up allowed him to challenge his oppression into strength, he dances because he's happy' Jin said grinning filling his cup with ale. The energy of the night, the excitement of their stories and the Morgan's captivating personality were all contributing factors which inspired Sid to go out onto the sea to find his passion. Morgan noticed Sid's captivation with his movements and waltz over to kid, asking him if he wished to learn some basic steps. This incident played a major role in Sid's initial interest of dancing. After the pirates left, Sid often skipped classes everyday, reading various books to find a passion of his own, while practicing the steps he learned from Rook.

Almost five years had passed since Sid had seen the members of the Liberal Pirates. Sid had found a love for music and was constantly playing the flute through town, while dancing around in the streets, after he had just stolen some bread and milk from the local markets. The towns people, though they loved his music, didn't appreciate his quick hands. Sid would always state it was practice for when he sails out and becomes a pirate. However, Sid's mother Lilly had gotten fairly ill, her body was frail to begin with and the daily labor of being a mother and blacksmith had begun to take it's toll. She passed away that year, her final gesture was to place her trademark cap and placing it on Sid's head. She died with a smile on her face and Sid's father and himself cried for days after she departed from the world. In the horizon, as Sid looked out on the seas reminiscing about his mother, he saw a familiar flag in the distance, it was Morgan's crew. Rushing to the dock, the ship anchored however, this time, it wasn't much men, only Jin who was stained in blood. The ship had been tattered in canon balls holes, the scent of blood and gun powder. Jin passed out from the blood loss and Sid lifted him up, barely dragging him into the village on his back to the local doctor. After Jin regained consciousness, he revealed that his crew had made it to the Grandline but shortly afterwards, they had been crushed by the veteran crews there. Morgan had eaten a powerful Logia by the name of the Goro Goro No Mi and was able to advance fairly well on the seas. However, they fell victim to a pirate raid from more experienced fighters and Morgan died in Mock Town, the island they finally managed to retreat to. In his dying moments, Morgan wanted to return the Pipe Blade to Lucas, as it had served him well on the seas. The blade was broken in the conflict and it would need to be repaired. Sid was faced with the harsh reality of the seas, it wasn't a place one could travel easily with the happy go lucky attitude he had been carrying for years now.

Jin revealed that he managed to retain Morgan's fruit after it, 're-blossomed' on Mock Town's Island. Jin returned to the Blues to bury Morgan's body, and the remaining of the crew. Also to carry out his last wish of returning the blade. Sid couldn't believe that such a strong man could've died, he hurried back to the port, Jin trying to stop him failed. On the ship, in the Captain's cavern, there he saw Morgan's body lying motionless. Sid went to over to his body and began sulking, it was then his resolve was set. He would complete the journey Morgan couldn't complete and become a big name pirate, stronger than Morgan's aggressor, inheriting his will to make it in the New World. However, he was just an eight year old, with a flute and the ability to dance, he had no chance of avenging Morgan as he was now. Sid returned, questioning Jin about the name of the pirates who had defeated them, Jin was reluctant at first but then revealed their trademark banner of a Werewolf on their flag. Jin was never able to find out the crew's name but the image of that logo was cemented into his mind. Sid asked that his father repair the blade for himself, adding a few custom modifications to the structure of the blade. Lucas heard of Sid's plans of going to the seas and refused completely. Sid stated that he was going to learn how to use the Transmigrating Blade and took out the Goro Goro Fruit, which he found in a chest next to Morgan's body. Biting into the fruit, Sid gained the ability of the fruit, which becoming a lightning man. Jin said that Sid's life would but much harder now that he ate the fruit, it forfeits his ability to swim. Jin promised that once he recovered, he would take Sid to the home of the Transmigrating Blade, Shimotsuki Village. Later that year, Sid left his Father, taking the new shaped Pipe Blade with him and set off on a journey to Shimotsuki Village. It took them much longer than expected, after Jin had gotten lost multiple times, they finally arrived.

Ling, the current master of the Transmigrating Blade, refused to take on a student who wanted to use the blade as means of revenge. However, after Jin and Sid's pleading, Ling saw the passion the kid had to learn style and decided to teach him under the condition that Jin leaved her dojo, she had no place here for pirates. After learning what Sid had already known about the style, she did reveal that quick footwork, not necessarily the ability to dance was needed to master the Transmigrating Blade. Ling revealed the style had seven major principles and it usually take fifteen years to master the basics of the complete style. Within four years, Sid was now thirteen and Jin was now married to Ling. Sid had managed to master the seven basics of the Transmigrating Blade, however, in the process broken his Pipe Blade once again. It was hard journey, due to the fact that Sid was also a Logia User and he would often lose control of his limbs but Ling said that spoke volumes to how intuitive Sid was. With the presence of Jin, Sid was able to learn the tips Morgan had learned as well after querying about controlling himself as a Logia. Though, some of his styles were rocky, Sid felt confident that he was ready to set sail, once he returned to Orange Town once more. After hopping a merchant ship, Sid returned home, there he and his father embraced each other for the first time in years. Lucas turned over the final creation before his retirement, the improved Pipe Blade, reinforced with steel. Sid was then informed that, a few years ago, his father had contracted an illness and he was soon going to die. Until fourteen, Sid delayed his journey to spend his final days with his father, after his death and then headed out to sea. He father 'Guts' jacket was now his to wear. His Father would often say that a man needed guts to survive in this world, hence why he engraved the Kanji for it onto his jacket, as a constant reminder of his mantra.

Abilities:

Sid exhibits a series of memory skill sets which makes him pay immense detail to his opponents and surroundings when in battle. These skills are as follows:

Hyperthymesia: Hyperthymesia is a phenomenon in which some people maintain an exceptional memory for events in their personal pasts. People who experience hyperthymesia have a superior ability to recall specific details of autobiographical events, and also tend to spend a large amount of time thinking about their personal pasts.

Photographic Memory:  Eidetic memory is the ability to recall images in great detail after only a few minutes of exposure and is unconnected with the person's  intelligence level. Like other memories, they are often subject to unintended alterations usually because of outside influences. If the ability is not nurtured it usually begins to fade after the age of 6, perhaps as growing verbal skills alter the memory process.

Weapon Description:  The pipe blade was a weird sword that features a sphere like shape guard. It's about 2.5 Meters in length and features a grip shaped into the form of a pipe. The pipe itself can be played if necessary and feature various holes for the notes, which are separated by small gaps. The blade itself is filled with small circles ranging up the blade's spine, stopping at the blade's tip. The blade is crafted from basic iron and is reinforced in it's final build with a steel frame. However, due to blade dense nature, it not a blade for guarding.

This blade was the third increment of the Pipe Blades that Sid's Father, Lucas River's designed for Sid and Rook Morgan collectively. The blade was originally made incorporating elements of the metals and stones local to Orange Island. It was Lucas' most unique weapon he had ever forged and his final masterpiece before his death.

Roaring Enigma - Fang's Growl - Thrusts katana into opponent's shoulder.
Trigger Dance - Sid taps his feet on the ground quickly, dashing like a sprinter would in a direction of his choice. Drawing his blade, he begins to thrust his blade forward rapidly almost like he's shooting bullets.
Spin! Dip! Rip! - Sid uses the his enemies power against them, deflecting their attack and ducking out of their vision. Pulling his blade with his opposite hand and then slices towards the users mid-section.


Devil Fruit Based Combat:


Astrapios ("Lightninger"): Sid enters his tangibility state, transforming his legs into jolts of lightning and advances in streamline directions towards the enemy. The attack can also be useful for fleeing conflicts since it utilizes the fluxes of lightning for bursts of speed.

Regifugim ("King's Flight"): Sid uses his lighting to travel upwards, giving him the ability to elevate himself in jolts of electricity off of the ground towards the sky.

5-10 Million' Kaminari Hoden - Den'atsu (Lightning Discharge x Voltage) : Sid electrically discharges over 5,000,000 Million bolts of electricity from his body. He becomes a body of lightning that can discharge bolts that can travel as far as few meters from his body. The distance and strength of the bolts increase as he increases in level and prowess.

Level 2

Piasa(Thunder Bird) : Sid generates large volumes of electricity around 30,000,000 Million in Volts and claps his hands together releasing an electrical beast in the form of gigantic lightning bird. The bird flies towards it's enemies and then explodes releasing an electrical field.

Rajin's Breath (Thunder God's Breath): Sid forms an electrical ball formed from electrical pulses emitting from his humming, the ball grows in size and then shoots off a streamline beam which is around 10 Meters in width and can travel around 15 Meters in distance. It causes wide scale damage to upon impact and packs quiet the destructive charge.

Electrical Knife Fish: Sid forms two electrical eels out of his electricity which are both 25 Million volts in density. The eels advance at alarming rates and tend to constrict their enemies movements.

50 Million' Kaminari Hoden - Den'atsu : Sid electrically discharges over 5,000,000 Million bolts of electricity from his body. He becomes a body of lightning that can discharge bolts that can travel as far as few meters from his body. The distance and strength of the bolts increase as he increases in level and prowess. At level 2, 50,000,000 Million Volts is the max he can control.

Thor's Day: Sid is able to increase his electrical voltages on his attacks on stormy days by drawing from falling lighting and super charge his attacks by an extra five millions Volts or so.

Mulungu's Furnace: Generating large volumes of electricty, Sid begins to focus electrical pulses into his hands, allowing him to melt any metals of the appropriate density, gold, silver, copper, iron and forge them into either items or pools of their form properties.

Level 3:

100-200Million' Kaminari Hoden - Den'atsu : Sid electrically discharges over 5,000,000 Million bolts of electricity from his body. He becomes a body of lightning that can discharge bolts that can travel as far as few meters from his body. The distance and strength of the bolts increase as he increases in level and prowess. At level Level 3, 200,0000,000 Million Volts is his maximum output.

Susanoo's Fangs: Sid spins around generating large voltages around 80 Million bolts of electricity crafting an electrical Liger that's fierce nature is met by it's ability to pounce, capture the enemy in it's fangs and release the large voltages into anyone who comes into contact with Lightning Liger.

Susanoo's Rage: Sid shoots large volts of electricity into the clouds above him generating thunder clouds in response. The thunder clouds not under his control begin discharge wicked bolts of electricity to anything within the clouds range.

Forma - Thunder Messiah: Sid creates a giant sized electrical being with fangs and spinning eyes made out of electrical pulses. The beast is made out of 200 Millions Volts of electricity and features the ability to transform his claw like hands into long electrical whips.


Combo Combat:

Rajin's Hymn: Sid covers the Jester blade in electrical pulses combining the weapons to add an electrical flare to his slashes and thrusts.

Bio

• Tequila is a long bridge in which the entire place is a slave camp so straight off the bat forming a gangland underworld on said island which is guarded by guards everywhere the whole criminal underworld with four bosses would be very hard to carry out. So its not that believable.


• Explain more about River's parents & why they made the decisions they made or why they left gifts for him such as the Kanji.


• Why did he steal & eat the fruit?

• Wouldn't the fighting style be an ability too?
