[Open] A Drawn Menace

[Vaetric]

A marine island full of civilians, perfect. Even better, large structures. Vae stood upon the large fortification that overlooked the town. It wasn’t easy sneaking in, but finally, he could fulfil his mission.
 
The destruction of Coral City. Three buckets of paint should do it, and now all he needed was his imagination to come alive. It was a rather large city, there was a port, hundreds upon hundreds of houses that one could easily find themselves lost in. It also had a crime problem which was why the marines had such a large presence as well. Though his fruit was perfectly suited to him, he needed large surfaces such as this one to work.
 
He had a free reign with the place, though he’d rather be doodling, he didn’t have a choice in the matter, the whole place needed destroying. He took the paintbrush from the back of his trousers and got to work. He dipped the brush in the paint and began to carefully draw out the basework for his creature.
 
Meanwhile, in Coral City, people busied along as usual, the alleyways were chock full of criminals, the bars full of toughs, though that was just for the port and poorer parts, the relatively rich place was prestine and had fountains at every turn. The marines were based in what could be called the middle-class place, which was fairly orderly.

So, this was Coral City, eh? Matt had arrived recently, he had been travelling around for quite a while ever since his old crew was disband. He looked over at the tattoo on his arm, he would never forget all the crazy things Lero and him went through. Anyways, he decided that he was going to resume his marine career, after all, the citizens needed some kind of hero and that hero will be Matt! Now, to find the marine HQ around here and apply, hopefully, they'd recognize him and immediately offer him a place. 

Captain M was going to be reborn, starting today! With a bag slung over his shoulder, Matt pressed onwards. It was gonna be hard finding the base in this crowd, but he'd eventually get there... in the end... hopefully. 

He walked away from a bunch of injured criminals..hm... I wonder.. who was the man who did that...?

[Sweet Dreams]

Meanwhile in a anther part of the city,the sun was shining,the birds were singing and children were screaming.....Wait what?! A group of children ran around a makeshift playground of sorts many of them wearing kitchen ware as armor and cardboard or wooden swords for weapons. A lone child was running towards a tree house looking back now and then as something seemed to be chasing him. 

Luckily he was able to climb up before the unseen monster had gotten him. Inside the tree house he stood panting,before a large amour of children all wearing and holding similar armor and weapons as him. After taking a moment to take a drink from an offered juice box and to catch his breath before he spoke to the boy in front of him,a paper crown on his head and a red towel warping around his neck as a makeshift cape. "Y-Youre majesty! The beast has attacked the outpost at the swing set! and has take your sister and her handmaids captive! Along with all the apple juice boxes!"

Suddenly a laughter cold be heard,cold and unfeeling making many look down to see the source. Annie stood atop the slide, as she looked down at the sight before her. Children worked hard in the sand box seemingly building a large sand castle,colorful paper chains acting as pretend shackles. "Soon my castle will be complete,and soon I will make them all regret their betrayal all those hours ago!" Below her under the monkey bars sat a small group of girls the oldest wearing a plastic crown glared up at the bear suited woman. "You will never get away with this you monster!" But this only made Annie laugh even more,it was clear she was having fun playing the evil villain. "Why,my dear I already have!" She says before picking up a juice box and sipping on it from the small hole in her bear head.

Vae took a break for a moment as he had laid out the groundwork for his creature. He squinted down at one of the quarters’ playground. Someone was wearing a pink teddybear outfit or something, which was.. Strange. It looked like she was ruling the children with an iron thumb. ..Kids were being ruled by a person in a large teddybear outfit, you can’t really make that up.
 
Sighing and reutnring to his work, he began to lay down the details, starting with the head, it wasn’t a masterpiece, nothing really could be. Art changed all the time, people’s perceptions, what they see is different to what another see’s, and nothing can stay the same. Though this was his first try, so it could only go up from there, but he was sure as hell going to make sure it could at least do the job. A skeletal face with bat-like ears, a long body encased in chitin with eight spiked legs and wings at the back. It would be large, around twenty meters? Maybe. He continued to work.
 
Meanwhile, throughout the city, red robed men in groups of two wandered the streets. Their robes were airy and covered their feet completely, making it look more like they were floating than anything else. They avoided the marines like the plague, but always returned to patrol around the place. They walked through the park, they walked across the street, they were just.. There.

"Excuse me, pardon me, very sorry, mind I just squeeze in there.."

Being in the crowded part of the city sure was hard. Having to constantly squeeze in between the moving civilians was getting a bit tiring, Matt decided to slip into an alleyway so that he could break free from the crowd and take a well earned rest. However, the people residing in the alley had other plans.

"Hey hey hey hey heeeeey. You punk, you know where you are!? Do you knooooooow!? Huh, huh, huh, huh, huuuuuuuh?" The delinquent moved in towards Matt, his hands in his pocket and his face only inches away from Matt's.

"Taaaaz~ Why do you always have to beat up anyone who comes here?" a young, more feminine voice asked, she sat on a trashcan.

"Shaddup! I do what I want!" he would reply, turning his gaze towards her before turning back to see that Matt was gone. 

Matt was making his way out of the alleyway, he couldn't waste his time here. He needed to find this marine base.

"Well, if you excuse me. I gotta go." Matt would say whilst waving.

The delinquent would just stand there... unsure of what just happened. As Matt walked away, he could hear some yelling from the alleyway.

"Why do you always get involved!? This is why we don't get any cash!"

"Hehehe."

"Don't just sit there and laugh! If I don't eat by the end of today, I'll bloody eat you, ya hear!?"

"Hehe."

This city sure was a rowdy one.

Annie sat up from the ruins of her sand castle and removed wooden sword from under her arm,the monster bear had been slain,by the king who rose up an army to rescues his little sister,it was a long battle one that would go down in history for the children of the island. But now there game was over and many of them had to head home for lunch. Annie sort of sad that her evil role was over got up and dusted herself off. Time for her to find a place to paint,she had been inspired thanks to the kids.

But first she needed to get what she had gone into the town from the docks for,paint she was down to only yellow and a tiny tiny bit of blue. It broke her heart to see so little of her paint,so little of color..

Suddenly Annie was knocked out of her thoughts when she ran into something,strange because she was in the middle of the street for one making it very unlikely to be a street lamp or something like that. So she looked up figuring it would be a person,which she found even stranger because most people normally moved around her,to avoid her like she was death itself...which she kinda was...If death liked wearing bright pink bear suits and enjoyed hugging people to death,literally crushing them...So who was it that didn't seem bothered by the tall woman in bright pink bear suit,at least not enough to avoid her?

The robed men moved across the town, dodging people left and right rather than trying to push their way past, like they were flowing with the crowd. They didn’t even glance at the bear, seeing as it had no way in hell in being a marine. They just hurried past it and continued on their way. If one were to look from a birds eye view, it would seem they were moving toward the harbour.
 
Vae, meanwhile had finished with the base work of his creation. He began to go to the other buckets of paint, and began to colour it in. He worked, unhurried as he drew out what he had in mind to destroy the city. It was a shame, really, but it was his head on the line so… No real argument there from him.
 
He took a break to look down at the city. His work should be at least as big as one of the houses, though he needed to figure out a way to give it an edge. Though the guys were meant to take it down later, the chitin plating could only be pierced through joints, gunfire just wouldn’t cut it. Though swordplay was one of his sect’s specialties, sso he didn’t really worry for them.
 
He walked back, and completed his work with one final stroke. Now.. The terror would begin.

He grinned, and placed a finger to his face. “Come, creature!” he commanded.

This city was crazy, weird gangsters, weird robed people walking around and.. wait.. what the hell is that!? Matt looked skywards, what he saw was some sort of big-alien butterfly thing! How on earth did that get there?! Matt had seen some weird stuff whilst he was off on marine missions but this is by far the weirdest thing he has ever seen in his life. He had mixed feelings, he was amazed, fearful, surprised and... excited. This was his chance. This scenario was kinda like the ones you see in old comics, a monster rampages through the city then a hero comes in to save the day! He would be that hero!

"Alright, here I go.." Matt would think to himself as he opened up his bag, pulled out his trademark helmet.. and slipped it onto his head.

Captain M is back people, and he's ready to kick some alien butterfly ass... right after he cleans off his helmet, he can barely see in this thing.

Annie was about to say something to the hooded figures but just as quick as she had seen them they were gone,towards the way she had come from,the docks. Annie had made a move planing to follow them,seeing as they needed to be taught some manners...But it was soon forgotten once the screams started. Annie looked around at the people,many were running almost knocking her over a few times. Once she had a chance to see what many of the people were so scared of,and what she saw,it looked like some sort of giant insect like hell bat?...It was...Glorious!~

She had never seen such a nightmare inducing creature before in her life,or at least she was sure it have caused nightmares if she ever was to sleep any time soon...She needed to get a closer look at this wondrous creature! So she took off,but unlike everyone else she headed towards the large creature her eyes shinning in excitement and joy at how fun this day was turning out to be.

Apparently the Maggolorth (which he decided to call it) was so large it people were actually seeing it before it got out of the ground. Exactly like climbing out of a frame, it sank its large. Sharp legs into the building. Vae grinned to himself, before running the hell away. As much as he’d love to see his work up close, he didn’t like the possibility of impalement either.
 
The creature shook its head, before slowly moving toward the edge of the roof. It spreads its wings before letting out a large, though somewhat squealish roar. Vae sighed to himself, the neck was too narrow, though it was pretty loud. He was running down the steps now, having retreated into the fort before he get eaten. He decided to take to a window, and look outside.
 
The creature clattered off of the fort, using its wings to glide around the city. People screamed, gunshots rang out. Vae tutted under his breath, its armour was too strong to be penetrated by normal fire, but also agile enough to avoid cannons. Meanwhile, he saw that the other sect members, the ones inrobes, had taken up formation, and had begun to put fleeing civilians to the sword. No one was supposed to escape, ti was going to be a testament to the world government.
 
First it’d be the panicked civilians closest, then the criminals would come through, that’d be a harder fight, the mosnte4r however would first feast upon the rich and middle quarters. It landed in the middle of the town, shaking its wings before letting out a horrifying scream, causing the ground to burst around it, sending people flying off in all directions.
 
Vae blinked, he didn’t know he gave it THAT.

Matt kept his eyes trained on the beast as it let out a loud and piercing roar, this was gonna be a tough opponent. It was gonna be like nothing he had ever faced before, maybe this was the moment he was training for. Looking over at his hand, he knew that he possessed some sort of weird ability to harden his arm. Though he could only use it once every few days, he needed to save it for only when he absolutely needed it. 

The thing took off and Matt decided he was gonna follow this thing, it was bad news and it was kinda his duty to take care of things like this. He ran and ran until it finally landed. Matt panted, this was it, the showdown. He wasn't stupid enough and knew he couldn't fight this thing with his bare fis- What the hell!?

A sudden gust of wind blew past Matt, he grabbed onto a lampost, he saw a kid flying his way, the kid was too young to defend himself from such a strong wind so Matt let go of the lampost, grabbed the kid and used himself as a cushion. The kid and his parent thanked Matt.

"No problem, just get yourself to safety!"

Damn, Matt always wanted to say that! So you could only imagine his feelings when finally said it... anyways, there were bigger matters at hand! Matt decided to test thing out, he would grab a mail box, give it a strong tug before throwing over like a javalin towards the beast! 

Hah, eat that!.. not literally.. he hoped.

[Sweet Dreams]

Annie was sent stumbling back as the ground beneath her started to tear apart and forcing pieces upwards. Annie nearly was send off balance as she had to step backwards as the ground would shift underneath her. But just she had finally gotten her feet on solid ground,she was blown back from the powerful gust that had hit her full force,she was forced to dig not only the claws on her front paws but the ones she normally kept hidden in the feet of her suit into the ground. She grunted as they created sparks before giving a loud growl,this could dull her claws,it took hours of careful sharpening to get them this sharp. 

But when she looked back up at the beast her anger was temporarily forgotten. Instead of the hellish skull like face she had seen before. This creature now had the face of...a green gummy bear...She hated green gummy bears...Annie was actually shocked for once,it took her a moment to realize what was happening,why she had been feeling like she had less energy then normal though it might not look like it to other people...Annie had been awake too long her mind was starting to play tricks on her,its way of letting her know she was reaching her limit for how long she could be awake. Even now as she shook her head to banish the gummy bear head from her view her head started to pound like a tin drum,she would need to take down this creature soon or else she would be on the menu for once...

Luckily a chance appeared,a mailbox was sent flying towards the creature,so hoping it would cause even a small distraction Annie took off her claws still out,maybe if she clipped its wings so it couldn't fly it might be easier to kill...but then charging head on towards it might not of been a good idea..

The beast’s ears twitched as it heard the swooshing of an object coming toward it. Using its wings, it bashed the mailbox aside, though not without a little tearing in its wings, not enough to impede, but enough for someone to notice. Its legs clattered along the pavement, with its ears twitching. It didn’t have eyes, which Vae did confess, was a bit of a design flaw, however at the time he thought someone could simply blind it, so he thought of another way of it being able to sense things.
 
Vae noticed the bear from earlier moving toward the creature and tore a bit of its wings. Vae frowned, that maybe was also a design flaw. He went back to work, if they destroyed that one, then he’d have to make a bigger, even worse creature. Now.. He had to brainstorm..
 
Meanwhile, the creature let out another roar, hearing the sound of gunfire strike its plating, it immediately went toward three mariens who’d taken up the windows of a house. Climbing up the wall, the three ran back into the room. Shoving its head into the house, it let out another shockwave roar, causing the windows to shatter outward, you could even see specks of blood mixed with the glass. It retracted its head from the house and twitched its bloody ears.

Damn, he missed it's head but still managed to tear a bit of it's wings. Where in the world did this thing come from? Matt had never seen anything like it before so fighting against it was gonna be hard since he hardly had any information about it. He noticed a... bear tears some of the thing's wings. A bear!? What was a bear doing here!? This city was crazy.. I said it before and I'm saying it again. 

Suddenly, gunshots came from a nearby building, it was the marines! Matt smirked, some reinforcements could be of great help right now. However these brave marines were killed seconds later by another shockwave. Matt clenched his fists, such brave warriors.. dying to protect this city. This was only more fuel to Matt's fire! Captain M was gonna beat this alien butterfly from hell down! Matt noticed that it's ears were twitching extremely fast.. weird. He'd have to find out more about this beast as the fight went on.

The only thing he knew as that it's wings were quite easy to tear, so he'd abuse that fact for now. Taking a deep breath, Matt lifted a notice board, began to spin around before finally chucking it towards the beast.

"Suck on that!" Matt would yell... again he hoped it wouldn't do it literally.

[Sweet Dreams]

Annie had started to tear up the monsters wings,it was strange how easy it was to slice through them...it had almost unnatural feeling to it even with her sharp claws. Suddenly their was a loud crashing sound before she was suddenly being showered with a mixture of broken glass and wooden sign. Looking around for a source of the wood sign she spotted with looked like a...rainbow gummy bear?...no just a man wearing a helmet of some sort with pretty colors on it. "Hey!  Watch where you're throwing that stuff! She shouted loudly at him,before she is forced to dig her claws into the joint in one of its legs when she was suddenly thrown from its wing with a cry of surprise. 

Hopefully she had done enough damage to the wings so that if it tried to fly,it couldn't or at least end up tearing its wings even more. But even if it was no longer able to fly it was still dangerous....she needed to find a weakness,it looked to be blind...so maybe... Annie suddenly grinned behind her bear head and slowly started to try and climb up the creatures body.

The Maggolorth growled once more as s wings began to shred, turning back into normal paint as the pieces that fell off fell to the ground. It let go of the house and fell down to the ground on all six feet. It lashed out at two other marines, eviscerating both while its head turned around to see what was on its back. However, before it could land a direct scream it was hit by a notice board.
 
Shaking it’s head, it forgot about the bear temporarily and looked around to figure out where the shout came from, and in extension, where the thing that hit it came from. It began to speed over to Matt, its legs leaving potholes in its wake. It would attempt to extend its leg downwould and take a bit out of matt’s chest, however as it could only operate through its senses rather than sight it would probably be just a little inaccurate as to where it’s biting. Afterwards, it would try rolling toward him, and by extension probably rol lover Annie if she didn’t do something.
 
Vae, meanwhile had decided to leave the creature to its fate, maybe a different one would do the trick. The fort was large and round, so maybe he could try and fit the painting. He began to fdraw a large circle around the roof, thinking about what he could give it when he was done with that. It was only a matter of time, no one knew what the monster was, or who it came from.

Noticing the beast turn it's head towards Matt, Matt got ready. This was the chance he was waiting for, now it looked like it was going to attack from a short range. He, clenched his fist and gulped, this was his chance, he couldn't waste it. He was scared yet eager, it was a weird feeling. Adrenalin was pumping throughout his body, as soon as this beast was close enough, it quickly went for Matt's chest. Here it comes, the opening he was waiting for! One slip up and his life was gone.

"You're finished!" Matt would yell as he swung his fist towards the side of the monster's head.

As he did so, his arm was engulfed in a black color and he could feel that it had hardened. This truly was the ace up his sleeve and he was giving it all he got.

[Sweet Dreams]

Annie was having trouble holding on,her claws couldn't dig very deep into the creatures joints,especially with its movement,it made climbing up to the things head even harder,but soon she was forced to forget her plan once the damn thing started to roll. She drew in her claws at the last moment causing her to be thrown off the creature,hitting the wall of a building luckily her soft costume stopping her from taking any bone breaking damage.

But as she slid down onto a pile of hay she could feeling the bruises starting to form on her back. It took a moment for her to get up,groaning and stumbling slightly as she does so. "God dammit that hurt!"She growled as she started to half run half stumble back into the fight not yet out for the count just yet.

As Matt hit the creature, it would literally be punched into the ground. As if someone had drawn into the cobbled pavement, the creature would turn back to a 2d drawing. This part of the city was quiet. However, gunfire could be heard from the docks, as it seemed the marines stationed near the port were more interested in defeating the red-robed people rather than the monster. The stragglers began to clap for Matt, who’d managed to defeat the monster.
 
Meanwhile, Vae checked on the monster after he heard clapping. “NO!” he’d shout involuntarily at the top of his lungs, before placing a hand on his mouth. His monster was defeated? Impossible! Who could’ve returned it to its original 2d proportions? Now if he wanted to bring it back, he’d have to run down there. He had no intention of fighting whoever managed to destroy his creation, but he had another one lined up.. It’d take a while, but so long as no one heard him, he should be fine.
 
He backed away from the edge, and resumed drawing. It would look kinda like a spiked tentacle creature with two blade-like arms at the front. However, he still had to draw the venom-sacs and the like, which would be annoying to do.

[FroYo]

Matt panted as he saw the monsters slam into the ground and somehow change into a 2D drawing. Weird... why on earth would something like that happen? Matt's train of thought was interrupted by the civilian's applause. Taking off his helmet since it was getting a bit hot in there, he looked around him. Everyone near the are was putting their hands together for him. Matt couldn't help but mile and bow.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!" he would yell, despite the fact that the people were right next to him.

The applause was loud but among all the claps, he could've sworn he heard someone yell NO.... hm.... guess it may have just been his imagination? Matt then remembered something... he could faintly remember some bear assisting him with the wings. Looking around, he would approach the bear once he found him or her and thank him...? Even though Matt was the one who smashed the beast onto the ground with his his power, the bear was also a little help and his or her bravery was one to be rewarded. After all, not any average person or thing would approach that beast.

Meanwhile Annie was sitting cross-legged off to the side staring at her claws,she had removed her bear head,so now the rare frown on her lips. Her claws,once sharpened so much that just their weight alone could easily cut through paper....Now they had dulled enough so that Annie would have to put more effort and power into her attacks if she wanted to use them again...She sighed as she put them away,once again making them nothing more then harmless soft plushie paws.

"That was Awesome!" Shouted a group of voices shocking Annie making her almost jump out of her skin. When she turned around she saw a small crowd of her own admirers staring at her with glee,it took her a moment before realizing these kids were the same ones she had played with just hours ago. "Yeah! That monster could of eaten you up in one bite but you still ripped apart its wings and even climbed all over it! It was really brave!" Said the girl who had been playing the princess.

  "Aw it wasn't that cool...I didn't really do anything all that important..." She says rubbing the back of her head lightly a blush on her cheeks. She then bent down to pick up her bear head and put it on. Once she had it back in place she laughed lightly "To think I started today playing a villain and now I'm kind of a hero huh? Shihehehe.." She laughed lightly before tilting her head slightly.

 Did she just hear a shout of anger....or maybe it was one of defeat?..What ever it was Annie wanted to see who had made it,so she moved towards the direction it had come from moving around the kids. "Hey Miss Bear where are you going?!" Shouted another kid loudly.

Drawing venom sacs was hard. You had to show it in a way that the drawing had it, and in a plce where it’d make sense for it to either spit or bite it. A small tube near the mouth? Just leave it up to chance? He couldn’t afford to make any kind of miscalculation now, the sect was counting on him. The creature was supposed to attack the marine presence so the civilians would run into a meat grinder when they ran for the harbour, but of course.. That happened.
 
Now the guys over there were dealing with marines with guns, while they had swords. They were going to blame him, even though it wasn’t his plan to use his weird powers to do it. And the just had to rush him as well, they could’ve given him the equipment to make a creature on the SIDE of a building rather than on top of it, it could’ve flattened most of the city, but nope.
 
Before he realised it, he was done with the venom sac. Finally. He went to dip the brush into the bucket before blinking. Crap. He ran out of paint. Not good. Dunking the brush into the barrel of water, he swished it around before drying it on a towel and stuffing it behind him. Now what was he going to do? It looked.. Kinda finished, he guessed. But the sacs were completely vulnerable, someone could just shoot it down. He stopped for a moment to sit on the edge of the roof and have a think. Should he sent it out half-baked?

Noticing the bear among the crowd, Matt realized it was just a person in a bear costume. He decided to give her his thanks, she did indeed show bravery whilst she helped tear down the beasts' wings so he felt that he had to thank this brave young "bear".  Approaching the person, he held out his hand for a handshake. His helmet was tucked under his free arm.

"I saw what you did back there. It was really brave, without you, I don't think I would've been able to take down that beast. You really are something special, huh?" Matt would say, a small smile would creep onto his lips once he had said that.

"I'm Matt. Matt Summers." 

[Sweet Dreams]

Annie stared back at this stranger,he was thanking her for the pitiful amount of help she had made? Wasn't he just the sweetest thing! But she didn't offer him her paw in return when he went to shake it. Instead she would try to hug him.Not the "Ill crush you to death kind of hug" more like an "awww you are so nice!" kind.

"Nice to meetcha! I'm Annie!" She says slightly muffed behind her bear head with a small burst of energy. Once she had released him from the hug she would start bouncing from foot to foot "But this isn't over yet hero-boy!" She says "I have a feeling we might find out where that creature came from,ummmm...THAT  WAY!"She says pointed towards the direction she figured the yell had come from. "This feels like I'm in a comic book....Got the costume and fought a giant monster and everything!" Suddenly she gasps and looks back at Matt "Do you think this could of been the work of some sort of super villain?!" She asked in excitement.

Were it to happen she was unable to pull him into the hug she would brush it off not everyone liked hugs she knew before still saying how their fight wasn't over yet and her excitement at the idea of a super villain.

Well, if they heard him and were smart they’d be here by now, or at least scaling the building or something. Well, guess he had some time to get things right.. Nah, he really did have a job to do and this was his last hope of being able to please the sect before having to sound the retreat, if it hasn’t been sounded already in the docks, still, there’s hope that his fellow people had managed to do their own jobs well, even if for some reason most of the marines were in the harbour. He squinted over there, before his heart dropped. Damn. Whoever gave them the intel about this place really slipped, because there were like.. Three marine battleships (not just the normal ones) moving to dock into port.
 
Well, it was now or never. With darkened eyes, he placed his hands together. “Come forth, creature!” he said as he raised one hand up into the air, and it began to take form. It slipped out of the ground as if it had just come from a tar field, but managed it nonetheless. As Vae promptly retreated downstairs, it let out a small screen before beginning to float overhead, its large frame large enough to give a little reprieve to those below from the sun.
 
Now.. This was a creature, this was what he should’ve made beforehand, though with a ltitle more paint he could’ve added more chitin on its belly and back, but still, it was a long range creature, and nothing could stop it now!
