Fayde awoke to the sound of doors loudly opening. She opened her eyes, and saw three men, she was tied up to a chair in a dark room.

“Who are you?” asked a man, he was accompanied by two (what she assumed to be) bodyguards. All of her things were gone. She felt pain upon her face, probably by the earlier slaps., or maybe they attacked her while she was out.

“Now, I asked nicely. Who. Are. You?” the man repeated, snapping his fingers and the two men grabbed her head and forced her to look at him. He had ginger hair, he was somewhat lean which complimented his suit. “My name is Fayde.” she stated, staring at him.

“Fayde? That name’s so fake. Anyway, listen ‘Fayde’. You don’t mess with us. You don’t stop our operations, I.E, our muggings or attacks, because we’re the snake head mafia. MAFIA. We’re not common crooks, we’re not some gang. We started off that way, and soon our name’ll change as well. It’ll be something to be FEARED here. I used to be clean, yeah. Well, ever since I saw ol’ Roger’s platform go down, I saw something. Nothin’s eternal, soon Roger’ll fade into time. I don’t want that to be me. I’ll become more than Roger! But oh, look at me talking about that. Leave us.” The two bodyguards left the room.

“You’re pretty cute, all tied up. You know that?” He walked toward her, inspecting her face. “Doesn’t mean you’re beautiful, in fact you look kinda ugly in that face. Look! Not even a spot! So emotionless, and boring. But when you’re tied up? Oh boy, in fact, it’s not just you, everyone looks cute when they can’t move anymore, y’know?” he moved his hand to punch her cheek. “And you can’t even doing anythin’ to stop me.” He said, rubbing her cheek harder. She. Was. Embarrassed. He was playing with her like a child would pay with a cat.

She pushed her feet against the floor, causing her to fall backwards, the man blinked. She kicked him in the crotch with one leg and in the right knee with the other. He let out a yelp, he fell to the floor, obviously in pain.

You look kind of cute like that.” She said, before she started to roll toward him, and bite into his leg.

“Oi! O-oi! Let go!” he shouted t her, she heard the doors open. She started to drink from him, causing him to age a little. She felt her leg wound feel a little better by the moment. She felt herself get grabbed by the two guards. “Punch her! Kick her! Beat the shit out of her!” he yelled, then getting escorted away by a few more.

Just as the first bodyguard was throwing the punch, she chose to transform. Wings burst from her arms and the rope constrictions were torn apart. She grabbed both of them,  they were kicking and screaming, she threw both of them against the wall and tore open the average wooden door, running across the hallway. The man who tried to interrogate her did a double-take and started to run. “Holy F-“ he began, before she caught up with him, bashing away the guards and holding him up to the ceiling. “Where am I?” She growled.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-“ the man continued to scream. She grunted and continued to run. There must be an exit somewhere. The place was awash with winding passageways. Eventually she came across a dead end, though there was an old-looking blazer. Could that have not made it more obvious? “N-no no no wait!” the man called out as she pulled the blazer, the floor fell from under her.  They were falling. Soon a light appeared below and before she knew it she was hurtling toward the sea from a tall tower.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH” the man contined to scream, she unfurled her wings and felt the resistance in the wind, as she started to glide she memorised the building. She would have to come back there later. But for now, she had to drop him the man off at the marine HQ. She then remembered, she needed to find her things! They were probably being held in a secure location, if she was at the top floor, then it must be at the bottom, or somewhere near.

She landed upon a house, and transformed back into a human. “Where are my weapons? My belongings?” She asked, shaking him.

“T-they’re back at the snake-head HQ!” he trembled. “You’re never going to get back in there, I make sure my places are very well-guarded!”

Oh, I’m not going in alone. You’re taking me.” she said, before wrapping her arms around his head and pushing him so he was around waist-high. “Or I’ll snap your neck.

“NononoNO! I’ll do it!” he squealed, she let go of him.

I want my things before the day is done.” she said, before tugging him with her.

About half an hour later they both approached the building.

“Guys, I’m back! And guess who else is?” He asked, roughly pushing her around, she had some fake-handcuffs on her. “I’ll go ahead and send her back up to the top floor, m’kay?” he asked, not bothering to wait for them as he pushed a door to the stairway. “Ladies first.” He said, she pushed him forward. It was a long trek up the stairs, eventually they made it after the man was absolutely exhausted. “Right.. It’s…. Somewhere… In.. There…” he wheezed, they only went up what, five stories? She walked forward, opening the door. Just as she was about to enter she felt a pinch upon her backside, she turned around angrily only to see that the man was running down the stairs, laughing. She needed to get her things before he brought back reinforcements.
Shrugging off the handcuffs which fell to the floor, she walked along until she saw someone behind a desk. “A lady was captured yesterday, we need her things. Where are they?” she asked her.

“What, you mean yours?” she asked, before kicking the table at her. She stumbled backwards, and the desk lady jumped at her. A struggle ensued, while her opponent scratched and bit, she punched and kicked, a couple of punches to the solar plexus and she was down and wheezing. “I want you conscious. Where are my things.” Her fallen opponent pointed at one of the small doors on the wall. She opened it and there they were. She quickly suited up, and climbed to the window. “Be thankful I have no need of your blood.” she said, before jumping off, transforming mid-air into her hybrid form and gliding across the city. She knew where their main base was, all she needed to do now was to tell the marines. She went into the Navy HQ, and told them to investigate the marked location on her map.

“Listen, we can’t just barge in there, you’d have to have at least SOME evidence!” the petty officer argued.

They are likely to leave soon, why must you hesitate?” She complained, another person entered the room.

“Ugh, I’ll go over there and have a look, calm your knickers.” He said, he looked to be a lieutenant. “If I don’t come back within the hour, send some men. He said. “Oh, and come with me miss…?”

Fayde.” she replied.

“Riiight. Well, you were the one who ‘tipped’ us off, so come with me and back up your claims.

Very well, then.

They walked toward the building in question. People were there, smuggling crates out of it. The man who had tried to interrogate her was there also. “You guys aren’t supposed to be here so quickly! What am I paying him for?!” he said, before pulling out a flintlock and aiming it at them. The lieutenant pulled out his rifle and Fayde brought out her crossbow, pointing it at him. The rest of the gangsters took out their weapons, Fayde and the marine quickly dived to cover as they started to shoot.

“That escalated WAY too quickly!” the lieutenant said, jovial. “God I love the thrill of battle!” he added, looking up, then down as shots fired above him. He then put his rifle around and fired, there was the sound of a person in agony, so she guessed he didn’t miss. “Aren’t you going to do something?”

She took out a bunch of cherry bombs. “Of course. Do you have a lighter?” She asked, he took out some flint and tinder to a match and helped light the bombs. She threw them over her and heard the explosions. Way larger than the cherry bombs. She looked up, and it seemed that some of the stuff they were smuggling were explosive as well. “Looks like the ones outside are all injured, the rest have closed the doors and are inside the building, they must be making a barricade.” she noted, before sitting back behind the cart they had used as cover.

“Thanks, these guys have been a pain in the arse for months now.” The lieutenant said, pulling out a den-den mushi. “You’d best be heading on your way. The marines will deal with this.” He said, talking into the communicator. “Captain,  we’ve found the Snake Head’s base, and also.. I suspect chief petty officer Bronto of corruption.” He said. While he was talking she had already pulled out an explosive bolt, fired it at the door and left it wide open.

After a couple of hours, the marines had purged the building, any who didn’t surrender at first were forced to. Fayde meanwhile, returned to the clocktower and found that the people who she had knocked out, including the man whose name she couldn’t remember, were still there. She dropped them off at navy HQ and then returned once more. She sat down upon a seat and pondered. She needed money. Maybe she should target people with bounties also? She made a note of it. The day had begun, and it was time for her to sleep.
